[Yaesu] FT-1000/D NOTCH Control Anomaly?

I have a very late-dated FT-000D - and snickered at the thought of the
notch control affecting the S-meter reading - especially, since I just got
the rig back from Yaesu for the usual warranty tune-up. Guess what? This
one favors clockwise by 1 S-unit!
