Having become inspired by a friend who just claimed that he finally
managed to get good accuracy on the S-meter of his FT-1000, I started to
look into this problem on my 1000MP. My observation so far had been that
the main receiver S-meter seems to show too low values, whilst the
subreceiver seems to be more realistic.
So, armed with my radio measurement equipment (Stabilock 4040) and the
service manual I yesterday started to look into this. And here's what I
found:

My initial comment is that for a radio of that price and dignity one
would expect a far better accuracy. Am I wrong?
I VERY MUCH WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOMEBODY WHO HAS A SIMILAR
EXPERIENCE.
