I don't own an FT-1000MP, but I do have a sugestion on how to fix the
problem. I have an FT-900CAT, and when the IPO is turned off (PRE AMP
on) there is an aprox. 10db increase in hiss. Check the menus to see if
there is a way to turn the IPO on and of for both recievers when IPO is
pressed. That maybe the most likely reason. I am though interested to
see if this "fix" does work, or if I am just barking up the wrong tree.
