I'd suggest trying EDSP setting number 4 for maximum punch, especially on a
flat microphone.
That's basically a mid-cut setting.

Subject: [Yaesu] FT1000Mp DSP Audio Settings
Could someone send me suggestions on how to set up the 1000MP DSP for
best audio "punch" for SSB dx work? I am using an MD-100 mike. I
have been told, and agree, that with the DSP on the audio sounds
"thin." I agree, and recall seeing mail about optimum EDSP settings
but seem to have lost them.
