With reference to the recent messages on this subject; we often perceive in the
UK that RADIO prices are cheaper in the US (pounds for Dollars often); but this
doesn't follow when it comes to filters. I think in the US there is a big mark
up on
these items, compared to radio costs
Everywhere in the world takes plastic, so it is very easy to buy over the 'phone
I bought the extra 500Hz (455kHz) 1 year ago; and it was abt £110 here. Think US
costs were similar to more expensive (HRO etc).
Recently, I got a **special** deal on a 250Hz 8.2MHz filter; don't want to
embarrass my source, but costed less than £80. This ought to enable US to
compare prices.
The world is a small place nowadays. It pays to shop around before you buy;
hopefully we could establish costs for accessories in a few other countries;
then
we really will know where the best place to buy is !
