Hi Dale,
I have an FT-757GX that does the same thing, or something similar. It's less of
a click and more like a jitter - Not sure why it does that, but don't think it
can be fixed.
Just for what it's worth...

Subject: [Yaesu] FT767
After owning an FT767 for a year (bought it used) I finally called Yaesu
to inquire about a very noticeable clicking sound heard when tuning a CW
signal. Each time the counter changes in its 100HZ position an annoying
click or chirp is heard from the speaker (I surmised the PLL momentarily
unlocked) when the 1 KHz position changes the click is even louder. I
described the condx over the phone and had the tech listen as I tuned
across the 25KHz marker sig. Nobody had ever heard of such a problem. I
finally sent the rig to them and after 2 weeks on the bench I am told
this is normal for this rig. Later model had an updated PLL that still
clicked but less noticeable. Can this be? The rig is next to useless for
weak signal work on CW and annoying on any CW signal.
Anyone else heard of this?
Dale
