Tyler,

Crystal filters can be installed either way, but there is definitely
ONE way to install the mechanical filters if you want the radio to
match the schematic published in the SERVICE Manual (not the Operating
Manual).

The Service Manual shows the impedance bridge on the OUTPUT of the
mechanical filter, not the input.  What difference does it make?  I
don't know, but the engineers must have had a reason for designing it
that way, and the factory must have had a reason for consistently
installing the 2.4 kHz Collins mechanical filter opposite the way
shown in the photo in the Operating Manual.

As I said before, I cured the S-meter full-scale jump by orienting it
opposite the way shown in the photo in the Operating Manual, so the
circuit agrees with the diagram in the Service Manual.

(Have we beaten this subject to death yet?).

I believe you can install them either way.  Those extra components comprise
a mild attenuation circuit, which probably is just there to keep levels
constant whether the filter is selected or not.
