[WriteLog] sending CW from a laptop with writelong and an Icom 7300

Does anyone know how to configure an ICOM 7300 so that the F keys can send
cw from a laptop running windows 10?  The USB cable works fine to interface
with the rig in all respects, but I haven't been able to get the PC to
generate cw messages.  Thanks for any help.
