You do not say what operating system your are using, but if it is Windows
10....
I had fits with trying to get audio out of my Icom-7851 and into WriteLog or
any other program that needed audio out of the radio into the computer.
In my case, the problem was a setting in Windows 10.
Settings > Privacy > Microphone > Allow apps to access your microphone > On
