I'm merely suggesting the information is already present in the
WriteLog Manual [Help File] for those that care to look.
For example, the [Elecraft_K3_COMMANDS] section shows how to program
the RIT UP/RIT DOWN commands on two keyboard rig command keys. You
*may* be able to use a keyboard mapping program or your mouse driver
to map your scroll wheel to keyboard keys (scroll wheel generates
keystrokes) if you prefer to use a scroll wheel for that purpose but
information on specific software.
Again, I'm trying to suggest the functionality is already present.
All it takes is a little study and ingenuity - not for Wayne to
code yet another thinly documented option. There are already too
many options that are not well known ...

to do RIT from the mouse and from the keyboard - both would have their uses
and users.
The current mouse wheel function to tune the VFO is useful S&P but RIT is
more useful for running.
I'm a right hand mouse, left hand keyboard user. 73 jeff wk6i

Huh? Using the mouse wheel requires moving the hands from keyboard
to mouse. What you really want to do is create rig commands using
Setup | Keyboard Shortcuts to assign RigCommand functions to available
keys (e.g. Alt-PgUp/Alt-PgDn) for the active (keyboard focused) radio.
I have not spent any time looking but I suspect you can do that now
with a little study of the WriteLog Help file and the CAT Command
Reference for your particular transceiver.

this is cool but not too practical for cw or rtty contests as I don't
work any contests where cw and rtty are both worked. This would be
neat in DX4WIN where I would be switching modes in causal operating.
BUT; what I really would like Steve and Wayne to work on would be
someway to control the RIT frequency from the mouse wheel or scroll
wheel where i would never have to leave the key board. The %O works
really great to reset the RIT freq so I would hope that there would
be someway to just move the RIT + or - from the keyboard. This would
be helpful in CW and RTTY contests. My 2 cents! 73's Cort K4WI

Wayne and Steve,
Thanks for the update. I loaded some RTTY messages (plus the
assorted command codes) and gave it a test run and it works
perfectly. Put the rig in CW and WriteLog sends CW messages. Put
the rig in RTTY and WriteLog sends RTTY messages. It's a wonderful
thing.
