Ding, ding, ding we have a winner. Thanks Joe!! Under computer control
the sidetone dsiappears, so I figured it wasn't working. Putting a VOM
on the output shows that it is. I really did not expect the paddle
sidetone to also disappear, but it does. So much for bench testing.
73 and thanks for all the help,

Yes, I have the batteries in the keyer. I would take a VOM and put it in
the resistance mode, and go across the key1 output of the Winkey3 and look
for the wiggle while keying from Writelog.
If nothing, then I would suspect your Comport (USB) from Writelog/Winkey3.
The other thing I would try is to move the USB Comport from the number you
have to a comport number 4 or above.Sometimes those lower numbers, Windows
reserves for other devices.
I am using comport4.

I don't seem to have any problem with Writelog newest version and the
WINKey3.
I am using Windows 7 64 bit. Just worked VK9DLX on 20 CW a few minutes
ago using WL Function key macros to the Winkey3 I selected WinKey2 in the
WL setup menu for keyer.

Hal,
Latest WL version is 11.22G, but I doubt that will solve your problem.
If your device is a WinKey3 then you are probably going to need Wayne to
release a new diver/interface for that device to make it work.

Latest version of WL, I think 11.21P. Same problem on a WIN7 and an XP
machine.

Trying to hook up a K1EL Winkeyer USB (I think this is a WINKey 3) with
WL. If I go to >ports ad select CW on the proper COM port, then
selected CW sends either the K1EL Winkeyer or K1EL WInkeyer 2 and hit
"Apply" The keyer locks up. Any ideas?
