This doesn't directly answer Hal's original question and I don't know
any WriteLog users who use the DXD/Piexx interface. In fact, the only
person using the DXD/Piexx I'm aware of is Scott K0DQ, but he uses it
with Win-Test.
I don't know what Hal's specific issue might be but other than O2SRP
vs. "MK2R" protocol the DXD/Piexx and microHAM micro2R should work the
same. DXD/Piexx will need to use "PC Generates" CW and switch it to
the focused radio while micro2R will use K1EL WinKey 2 switched to each
radio.
For those doing RTTY with FSK, micro2R includes two UART based FSK/PTT
ports which eliminates the need for additional serial converters.
The real advantage of MK2R+ over micro2R is that MK2R+ includes both
radio (CAT/CI-V) and sound cards plus added station control capability
(band decoder, PA sequencer, etc.) that are not included in either
DXD/Piexx or micro2R. The cost of MK2R+ is less a pair of interfaces
like DigiKeyer II or microKEYER II (or equivalent) plus the DXD/Piexx
or micro2R. However, as Ed points out, micro2R makes a lot of sense
for those who already have the other hardware and are looking to add
SO2R switching capability.

The u2R is functionally a next generation DXD that adds USB and a WinKey.
Its configuration is much more powerful and flexible, all accomplished with
the MicroHAM Router software. The u2R is the perfect replacement product
for long-time DXD users who want the key SO2R capability without all the
features of the MKR2+.
I too almost went the route of the Piexx SO2RXlat to keep my beloved DXD
working with updated PCs. Then, the MicroHAM u2R was introduced and a much
better solution was available.

I asked this question a few years ago and I did find someone using this
configuration, however to me it seemed complicated to set up. I already
had wasted a lot of time trying unsuccessfully to get a PCIe parallel card
to work with Writelog on a new computer. So instead, I purchased a
MicroHam Micro2R which can be controlled by a USB port. Since I already
had other MicroHam products it was easy for me to set up and operate.

I'd like to hear from anyone (off list please) who is using WRITELOG with
the DX doubler and the Piexx SO2RXlat for the interface..
