What operating system do you have?
If it is Win7, then it may be that the system is putting the Bluetooth USB
port to sleep.
I have discovered that even if you tell Win7 not to put the port to sleep,
it will still do this, UNLESS you do the steps below.
This is the solution:
Start
Control Panel
Hardware & Sounds
Power Options
Change power-saving settings
Use HIGH PERFORMANCE, and click on CHANGE PLAN SETTINGS
Turn off display - NEVER!
Put computer to sleep - NEVER!
Then click on Change advanced power settings
In the tree, look for USB settings, and click on the + sign
It opens USB Selective suspend settings, click the + again
That opens to show SETTING, click on the BLUE ENABLED and change it to
DISABLED
