Jim, I just knew someone would pop in with the answer for your K3 setup.By the way, since you are new to WL I forgot to mention a feature that may be useful to you. In the Entry window all the field names are shown in raised buttons. These buttons can be programmed with additional messages, including macro commands that can then be played back by a left click on the field button name. In the BARTG RTTY Sprint there are 4 buttons - CALL, NR, Country and C. Each of these can be programmed with its own message. To program a key hold down the Shift key and left click on the button. When the little window box opens type in the commands and or text you want connected with this button. For instance the CALL button could be programmed to send CALL? %E. To complete the button program hit Enter. Now if you need a repeat of a call just left click on the CALL button to send CALL?. Just remember in RTTY put a %E at the end of each message button, just like in the normal F key macros to turn off TX. Once you have the buttons programmed do a Setup/Save Configuration and a File/Save to save the program messages. 73, Gary AL9A----- Original Message ----- From: "Ed Muns" <w0yk@msn.com> To: "'Jim Balls'" <makidoja@gmail.com> Cc: <writelog@contesting.com> Sent: January 23, 2013 5:44 PM Subject: Re: [WriteLog] % L in rtty F key memory not working Yes.Select 2 for Number of Radios in the Radio menu. This will create two Entrywindows. In the Setup menu select Ports and setup two instances of the K3 on the sameCOM port where your K3 is connected. In the Radio button in the upper Entry window, click the drop-down menu in Log the frequency of QSOs, and select the Comm port entry. In the Radio button in the lower Entry window, do the same thing but selectComm port Rig 2. When the TX focus is on the lower (sub-RX) Entry window, WriteLog puts theK3 in SPLIT mode so you can transmit there. For RTTY FSK, this means you'llneed two FSK keying interfaces, each on a different Com port and each of those Com ports associated with different Rttyrite windows with MMTTY orwhatever software modem you use. Same thing for hardware TNCs. For CW, ifyou use the K3 COM port keying on the DTR (or, RTS) signal, then you canjust tick the CW button in the Ports menu for both K3 entries. If a WinKeyor MicroHAM box or other keyer, just specify its COM port as a third COMn entry in the Ports window. All this is explained in the Help file. Search on K3. Any idea how to use the k3 dual rx with 2 log entry windows, is it a case of putting 2 entries of k3 with the same con port in the com port setup Also can additional commands be sent to the k3 for things like rit cancel when f1 is sent (cq)._______________________________________________ WriteLog mailing list WriteLog@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/writelog WriteLog on the web: http://www.writelog.com/ ----- No virus found in this message.
