I had problems with Writelog before doing that. It was 2 years ago at field 
day. HP laptop with Windows Vista.  Cured it by using a K1EL winkeyer. After 
switching to N1MM with a faster Win 7 machine, no problems with just a 
transistor or optoisolator.
