Joe,

In addition to the suggestions from Wayne, I'd also go ahead and install SP4
on the workstations, along with Windows Installer v3.1.  SP4 is quite mature
and stable, and since the WL files are msi's, you may need the extensions
included in Installer 3.1  

Both can be obtained using Windows Update from the start menu, or from the
Tools menu within Internet Explorer.  If an internet connection is
unavailable, you can download the SP manually from Microsoft as well as the
Windows Installer and its associated updates.  They're usually available on
the Downloads portion of http://support.microsoft.com
