A "locked" directory can sometimes occur if there is corruption in the file
descriptors. Bring up a console window and type "chkdsk c: /f", answer "Y"
to the prompt to check at boot and reboot. It Might fix it. This usually
happens if you crash or have a power failure.

Subject: [WriteLog] Locked WL Directory
Greetings from a frustrated newby.
I've had to reinstall WL, but have discovered
that the directory (WriteLog) is "locked". I
can't access it, can't delete it, can't rename
it....in short, it seems to be very much "bullet
proof". I've tried to delete it using DOS
commands (thank goodness I remember them),
programs that are supposed to delete locked files
and directories on reboot, and other such
attempts to rid myself of the locked WriteLog
directory. I've checked WinXP permissions - I'm
the only user and I'm the administrator. No luck.
The problem is that I can't reinstall WL, because
it tries to place the files in that directory,
and installation stops. Any suggestions, other
than re-formatting the hard drive?? What a pain that would be....
73 and thanks in advance for any thoughts on the subject.
Joe
