Stands to reason.
The system could not resolve the computer name "DELL"

Subject: [WriteLog] WL networking log problem solved
We spent several hours on Saturday, prior to SS, trying to make two WL
station network together. The objective was to network WL 10.61E on a Win98
machine
to 10.61E on an XP machine.
Try as we might, we could not get WL on the XP machine to connect to WL on
the Win98 machine. However, it did work in the other direction: WL on the
Win98
machine would connect to WL on the XP machine.
The two machines were connected via a router, and we could ping each
machine's tcp/ip address from the other. We shut down virus protection and
firewalls
on both machines, so these would not prevent communications.
We double checked to make sure that both machines' workgroup was
"WORKGROUP",
and the computer names were correct (DELL and RUN2). Still no joy.
The finaly solution came when I entered the Win98's address (192.168.0.103)
into the "Connect to WriteLog network" window on the XP machine, instead of
the
computer name, DELL.
Lesson learned: Using the computer's tcp/ip address instead of the computer
name allowed WL to be networked.
