Some more perspective....

I can't comment on the N1MM logger or developer.

The fact that the Writelog reflector is so busy is a testament to the number of
people using the software, and the fact that the software is updated on a
regular basis. Yes, this does cost some $$ but it's worth it (IMO).

K1EA hardly ever updates CT any more, and the CT reflector is pretty quiet. I
guess a lot of people have abandoned CT for Writelog, N1MM or others. Even
though CT has been *free* for a year or two. The Windows version still doesn't
support the DVP or COM-port CW.

Writelog is the software I use at home now, mainly for RTTY but I used it in
the ARRL CW SS last November for the first time (and won Low Power, EMA).
Admittedly some things take a little patience and understanding:

- networking
- LPT1
- INI files

Writelog is a complicated piece of software -- it supports a wide variety of
hardware, and allows custom contest modules which many contest packages do not.
If some aspects of the program don't work for you, try the competition and
then decide whether Writelog is worth it *to you*.

Hats off to Wayne for keeping it going!
