[WriteLog] Tripping the Sound Card Mute

Now running mic through sound card for first time. I seem to trip the mute
button on the Microsoft volume control each time I run the .wav files and
some times just hitting the log input subwindow.  What can I do to avoid
tripping the sound card mute?
