During the past IOTA contest as CU4M we faced 2 severe problems using
writelog 10.45M installed on 2 laptops running Windows 98 second
version. The laptops have been interfaced via Ethernet hub.
1. In the Islands on the Air contest there is an error with serial
numbers.
When the Search & Pounce station enters a callsign in preparation for
working a multipler, the program allocates a serial number. If the Run
station then makes a QSO the same serial number that was allocated to
the S&P station is used by the Run station. The serial number allocated
to the S&P station does not increment to the next available one. The
log then records 2 QSOs with same serial number.
2. In the Islands on the Air contest on CW, any corrected callsign error
does not get updated for transmission if the transmission of the
callsign has commenced. Example - Station to be called is HB9CRV and the
c/s in the window is wrongly entered as HB9CRU. Correction of the "U"
to a "V" does not result in the correct callsign being transmitted if
the c/s transmission has started. CT and NA certainly recognise such
corrections.
Is there a solution for these 2 problems?
