Just a reminder about the Part 15 rules and gain antennas - there are 
limits (depending on band, and mode, and sheesh! a whole bunch of 
conflicting requirements) on how much antenna gain your wireless system can 
have before you start reducing power. In general, the most bang for the 
buck occurs if you restrict yourself to a point-to-point system, where you 
usually can pick up 6 dB without penalty. (But it must be point-to-point - 
you can't have your two parabolic reflectors pointing in different directions).

the 5 GHz band is the most forgiving here (especially at the high end where 
more EIRP is already allowed). On 2.4 GHz the problems with other users 
(microwave ovens, cordless phones, ham radio satellite operations (!), 
etc...) can cause problems both with interference in and out.
