Fkey users making ssb messages, My heads-up from yesterdays experiments. I am an avid user of the utility Fkeys by K7KAR. I set it up yesterday with all my shifted function key messages. Do NOT do that! The commands that Fkeys sends back to Writelog are the Record On-the-fly commands and you erase all the function key messages (mgs2.wav, etc). Fortunately I had a back up copy of my new messages in a sub-directory when I finally figured out what was happening. Keith was kind enough to quickly answer my email. He is on business and can not look at the change before SS time. So my work around is I will just put the regular function keys on the Fkeys menu for messages used often, and put all my request for repeats and my repeats in the Shifted slots and just play them for the Keyboard. I left one key open (SF5 in my case) in the event I want to record a new message on-the-fly. Did not get time yesterday to verify the conflict between shifted cw/rtty messages and shifted ssb messages. Maybe today. Also discovered my "RFI" problem occurs with only 30 watts into a dummy load. It may not really be rfi???? I am beginning to suspect the band decode signals are coming unlatched momentarily. I must think of the right questions to ask.
