Hi Chad, et al.

DUH DUH DUH!!!!

You got it, Chad. I had Number Of Radios=1 checked OK, but needed to check "This Window is Radio Left". The keyer didn't know where the radio was. All is now fine; my little green "L" is back (I hadn't missed it). I have no idea how it became "unchecked". I'll assume I had a case of "Sausage Fingers" and did it to myself. This also explains the problem at the MM.

Thanks, Chad. This reflector IS the best.

This almost sounds like a keyboard shortcut thing. The ones
you listed below look correct, but are they from your home
working computer, or from the M/M? Or is it not working at
home anymore?

The relay clicking is indicative of the headphone switching
relays inside. So it would almost seem as if you are changing
radios. Are you SO2R? Do you have Radio>Number of Radios set
correcly? Does the xmit or rcv "focus" shift when you hit any
of those keys?

What happens when you send CW via a message buffer and hit ESC?
How about changing speed via PageUp and PageDown?

Greetings.

I am setting up for CQWW CW using my trusty MK-1100. CW is fine from the keyboard and paddle UNTIL I hit ESC or CTRL C (to halt cw) or ALT F9 or ALT F10 (to change cw speed). At that point a rather loud relay picks up (or drops out) in the keyer and it won't work from any source until the keyer power is cycled off/on. ALT W (entry clear), ALT T (timed CQ) and other commands that don't affect the keyer are fine. I am not transmitting (no RF problems; just sidetone). Speed control from the manual knob is OK. Interrupting a CQ with the paddle works without kicking the keyer "off". Using WIN ME, WL version 10.48F (updated to 10.50D today, no change).

I tried using it at a Multi-Multi last fall and it did the same sort of thing. It was fine when I got home. At the time I assumed it was caused by some networking issue (my machine was the hub). Now I'm assuming (hoping) it has to do with an improper or obsolete INI entry.

Other pertinent (?) data:
- Worked fine in '04 WPX CW (using WL version 10.45M).
- Ports correctly configured. CW on comm 1 w/ MK-1100 selected.
Rig on comm 2 works fine.
- changed to "PC Generates" cw through comm 1 and it works 100%
- "Enter sends exch/QRZ" selected.
- INI entries checked:
    - Configuration
         - CtCompatibleAccel=YES
         - QrzFunctionKey=3
         - CqFunctionKey=11
         - SendCallExchangeKey=2
         - MoveNextOnEnter=1
    - KeyboardShortcuts
         - Crtl+C=MessageAbortTransmission
         - ESCAPE=MessageAbortTransmission
         - Alt+F09=CWSlower
         - Alt+F10= CWFaster

Ideas??? I was hoping to use this keyer at K2NNY for SS this weekend (I'll still try).

Tnx es 73, Redd, WB2DVU
