Same here.  I have several devices on the CT-17 (but not
the PW-1).  These include my Steppir Yagi, two radios,
IC-756ProII, IC-706MkiiG, my Rigblaster Pro, . . .

I have never witnessed such a problem and I have never seen
the display dim ever.

I think I have the same setup and don't have the problem.  (Also never
noticed the rig's backlighting dimming when interrogated.)  What is your
RigPollInterval= set to in the ini file?  Mine is 1000.  I'm using 9600
baud, and CommPTT is set to NO in the Port Setup, since PTT is via serial
port RTS and transistor interface.

My PROII is set to 5C hex (the default 64 is OK if you change the ini file
appropriately).
