I'm thinking about changing out my shack computer to a (used PIII)
laptop, which will force me to use the USB ports as serial ports.

At the present time, the shack computer uses one USB port (for a
non-radio application), 4 serial ports (for packet, rig [DX4Win and
Writelog], rotor [DX4Win, Writelog, RtrCtl], FSK/PSK31 [all of the
previously mentioned plus Digipan]) and two parallel ports (keyer
[DX4Win and Writelog], printer)

The question is whether the Keyspan USB->4 Serial Port adapter which
supports data rates to 230 kbps per port, will work.

OS at the moment is Win98SE and may be changed to Win2k or XP,
depending on what comes on the laptop.

Thanks in advance,
