The WriteLog RTTY Starter tutorial has been finished and the
construction signs have been removed. It can be found at:
http://www.rttycontesting.com
It's a little longer than I had anticipated at 16 pages but once I got
started I couldn't stop for a while. It may be too much, but I hope
it holds the beginner's interest. I actually learned a few things myself
by double checking the WriteLog Help files on things I was unsure of.
There are over 90 screenshots.
It doesn't print well on a printer- sorry. Using Landscape setting does help.
I hope in the future to offer my tutorials in pdf form, but that's a ways off
yet.
For non-WriteLog users who might be interested in WriteLog, it gives
great detail on how the program works for RTTY contesting.
For WriteLog CW & SSB users, this is your chance to join the wonderful
world of RTTY contesting using WriteLog. For WriteLog RTTY users,
you might pick up a thing or two you didn't know.
It's possible there could be some errors and/or broken links. Please report
those directly to me and not the reflectors. The RTTY Etiquette page is
not complete so the link at the end of Page 16 doesn't work yet. The more
I read it the more I realize that it's a lot to digest for the newcomer. Even
if
it just helps one person, it was worth the time and effort to do.
My other tutorials are "Getting Started on RTTY" at
http://www.aa5au.com/rtty.html
plus WriteLog tutorials "Dual Receive on a Single Radio", "Installing & Using
the
MMTTY Plug-in for WriteLog" and "Running DXTelnet with WriteLog over a LAN"
at the rttycontesting.com site.
Comments are welcome but not necessary. BARTG contest is real slow. Got a
late start.
K index is at 5. 40 & 80 are too noisy here tonight. 20 is not bad, but not
good either.
