Ron,

Technically, you are correct that the "+" key should send the F3 message to
the radio that has the keyboard focus if there is no %X in the message. No
doubt this particular case escaped Wayne's notice back when he implemented
the switching algorithm. Those of us who beta tested the feature didn't
catch it either, probably because we tested in "regular" contests and not in
Sprint. When S&Ping in a regular contest, you use F4 to send your call, then
F2 to send the exchange. When the other guy says TU QRZ?, you quietly hit
ENTER and go on to the next victim. You don't use "+" to end a QSO on the
S&P radio -- unless you plan on stealing the other guy's frequency! Of
course, that's exactly what you are expected to do in Sprint. I can't
remember what I did in the last Sprint (missed it this weekend.) I probably
just hit F3 and Enter.

I would call it an error in WL, although Sprint is the only contest in which
it matters.
