Greetings from Mongolia. I'm trying to install Writelog for JT1CO & =
JT1BG but have run into problems. I have the program on CD ROM as the =
internet connection here is very slow. (9.6 KBps at the moment via =
analog radio link to JT1CO's country QTH) so doing a download is not a =
great option.
The problem I'm having, is that when I click on Setup~1.exe, I get an =
error message "setup is unable to find _setup.dll which is needed to =
complete the installation, Error 103." Looking for clues on the web =
page, I found the follwing:

WriteLog installer gives ComponentMovedata error

..and gives an error message naming atl.dll. The problem is that the =
file atl.dll is marked Read-only.
Using the Windows File Manager, browse to the directory named in the =
error message and find the file
atl.dll. Click on the file to highlight it, then right click and choose =
Properties in the menu
that pops up. Find the button labeled "Read-only" and be sure the button =
is off. Click OK, and
 re-run the WriteLog installer.

Setup~1.dll file on the CD ROM is set to read only and of course I could =
not change it on the CD. So, I copied the files from the CD to =
c:\writelog which then allowed me to set the read only to off on =
setup~1.dll. I also tried renaming the file since the error message was =
for setup1.dll (no ~). Maybe another clue, I have tried to load the =
program on two laptops and I still get the same message on both =
machines. In fact the second laptop is my own which is already running =
Writelog.

I know it shouldn't be this difficult and I don't want to "experiment" =
too much for fear of eventually creating bigger problems. I'm hoping =
someone with a bit more computer savy can help out. I need to get this =
working before we leave Sunday morning. By the way, I did eventually =
try to download the program figguring a slow down load was better than =
nothing. Unfortunately, using the supplied URL I got an error message =
file not found. =20
