I don't know of any contest where they *really* care that a number has been
skipped or duplicated (despite what the rules may say). WriteLog has a bug
(or at least an undesirable feature) and there will *always* be the
potential of a duplicate serial number, no matter how hard you try to avoid
it by keeping the callsign field clear, etc. You can run into it in
networked operations (multi and single op) and SO2R on a single computer.
It's not worth your effort to try and fight the software. Just send
whatever serial number WriteLog comes up with, log the QSO, and go on with
the contest. You'll get fewer grey hairs (or the grey hairs you have will
fall out slower) and have less heartburn.
