All FT1000mp owners,
I got all excited, for an old man, when I read this yesterday. Pulled all
my extra PTT cables off the FT1000mp so that I could just command PTT by
CAT when sending CW. I use the W5XD keyer to the rear key jack and thus do
not use the internal keyer. This keyer delay does not affect anything going
on via the external key jack. The same software bug still is there. And I
suspect that it got propagated to the Mark V. How unfortunate. I guess
Yaesu engineers do not use their own radios. The PTT is still being dropped
by the radio after the first dit.
So I guess we still have to use an external PTT line in parallel with what
is being commanded via the CAT. The PTT line on the new W5XD keyer which
handles switching the PTT line from a footswitch seems to also get PTT
asserted on it during cw. Nice. Solving the footswitch also solves the cw
PTT issue
