John / Joe: Thanks for your quick response.
To answer your question John, I have not checked RS232.
And Joe, I am using a Black Box ( PCI ) card that is set up for
sharing. Com 2 and 4 are sharing an IRQ.
There is no hardware on Com 4.
I'm running an older machine ( AMD K6 300 ) ( 256 megs ram ) I just
finished installing an extra 4 meg video card so I can run dual
monitors.
I guess I should qualify my situation with some information that I
didn't put in my last post. ( I'm just reassembling the shack after
moving all my desks to install a new corner desk.) ( better
utilization of space ) After I hooked everything back up and started
testing, I realized Writelog was not communicating correctly with the
rig.
The one thing that struck me from your post Joe was that
I hooked up the rig after rebooting the PC.
PC wasn't recognizing the radio. So, Daaaa, back to
square one!
Shut the PC down, turn the W5XD keyer and the rig on and restart the
PC. ( Back in business )
Operator error!!!! Doesn't it figure!!!!!
So, thanks again guys:
Hope to catch you again on the next test:

interrupt line (IRQ) the rig (COM2) is using. Also make certain that
that interrupt line is not being shared with any other port (for
example, COM4 in an ISA machine) unless the hardware is designed to
support IRQ sharing (for example, PCI cards) and the proper Windows
drivers are installed.

keyer in line. I'm having trouble reading the rig. ( No Rig )
showing. I can change the freq on the rig by changing it in
Wrightlog but still get no freqreadout. I've checked connection until
I'm blue and no change.
Just real curious how I can change freq's with Writelog but it isn't
seeing my rig.
Ver is 10.30 and the rig is a TS930sat with PIEXX board. Just looking
for ideas:
