Depends on your operating system and bios. Mine is Windows 2000 and
requires you to hit F8 when booting to have several choices including
several safe modes. Your system manual should tell you how to get in safe
mode. If your system is truly booting up in safe mode, it should tell you
that it is in safe mode and it should be obvious that most of the tray icons
are missing and the screen resolution is returned to 640x480.

I would back up the system with a utility like Ghost or Drive Image to
ensure that you do not lose all of your files, then reinstall your Windows
Operating Mode in the repair mode, and you may need to then reinstall the
display driver and display card software for the laptop. You might try to
determine what resolution the display screen is in and what resolution you
had before your problems started.

After the last time I ran Writelog, my laptop screen changed to what
appears to be the "safe mode" format. This fiormat is difficult to read.

Thus far, by rebooting, and searching through the windows of "display"
under "control panel", I have found no way to set my screen back to a normal
windows format. No windows have appeared giving me a choice of selecting
regular or safe mode.

Can anyone tell me how to get my screen out of this safe mode appearance
and back to a regular windows appearance?
