Steve,
Just installed the PCI-400HS Serial Card and the PCI-1284-P2 Parallel Card
both from Byterunner. The computer is a PII-400 MHz running Windows98. Had
a little trouble getting both cards to install. Called the company and after
trouble shooting found Windows98 did not see the drivers on the 3.5 disk.
Have to go into DOS and run the driver install program. That worked and both
the serial and parallel ports and installed.
Some additional information if you plan on installing more parallel ports:
I had to go into the computer BIOS and change the Parallel port address to
3BC.
Then install the drivers from DOS.
The information to get Writelog to recognize the new parallel ports is part
of a message I saved off the reflector.

There is a program in WriteLog's \programs folder called FPORT16.EXE
that is probably causing the problem. It reads the BIOS for the LPT
port address assignments and sets the entries in WRITELOG.INI.
If you rename FPORT16.EXE to anything else (or delete it) it won't
do this anymore. Another possibility is to figure out why the BIOS
is reporting something different than what you have installed.
