After seeing a lot of good reports on WriteLog, I
decided to join the 21st century -- sent in my $75.00,
downloaded the program, set it up, and it basically
has puked and died.
Computer -- 350MHz Compaq running Win-98. Very stable
machine, have been running it for 3-4 years. Came with
COM1 on the main board, COM2 is an internal modem, COM3
and COM4 are on an "add-on" board. Contesting
software has been CT 9.xx over the life of the machine,
running flawlessly, keying CW on COM1, radio on COM4,
and TNC on COM3.
Problem 1 -- Can't talk to the TNC. Period. Other
logging programs (CT and HyperLog) work just fine,
so I know the com port and the TNC are problem free.
Problem 2 -- I can run CW on COM1, or the radio on COM4
(but not both). CT handles this just fine, so I know
the hardware is good. In WriteLog, when I setup either
port without setting up the other, it will operate
just fine -- ie, I can set up the radio on COM4 and
it works fine, or I can set up CW on COM1 and it works
fine, but if I try to run both, the program freezes
when I click "OK" in the setup window.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
