I too had the same problem lacking COM ports for my laptop. In a need
for an additional port I bought a USB to single COM port adapter for 50
CAD$ ( about 35US$) at local computer shop. It doesn't even have a
brand name. Properties for the device driver says: Magic Control
Technology Corp. I hooked up my TS 940S and it worked right out of the
box.
Just a thought.
