The only way it could work is if Writelog interfaced with a callbook CDROM
and did lookups on the fly (not a bad idea, but limited in use to only a
few domestic contests per year.)
Otherwise how could it know which direction W6XYZ is from your QTH?
Especially since the FCC (in their wisdom) has decided that you don't
actually have to have a callsign reflective of the call area in which you
live...

I don't know why the renumber feature even exists - I'll bet more ops have
screwed up their log permanently than were ever helped by it... If you
renumber a log in a contest where you're handing out serial numbers, and if
it changes the numbers at all, you're screwed. But I don't know if you
can insert a QSO or not. Probably not.

I think a lot of people use it for casual logging - the "General DXCC
Tracking Log Keeper" option under Contest Selection is the one to use.
