Attached from Lin is the definitive answer (which I forwarded to the
reflector without permission, but I don't see anything but good stuff in
it..).
The difference in what Lin talks to here and my set up was that I never
removed the DVD from the port set up so I could send it with my voice and
not the WAV files. So I would hit the 'xmit QTC' button and would get the
WAV recording which I didn't want. If I would have removed the DVD from the
port set up, I would have had the 'x' on the log and properly recorded QTC's
in the log. And the program would have then moved me forward with the next
set of (10) QSO's to provide in the next QTC.
Obviously the automatic sending of the QTC's with WAV or CW or RTTY is a
very good feature; I just didn't have the right stuff to automate it with
SSB.
Some others also replied to me with the WAV file problem as I had; the
answer is not to have the DVD set up in the ports section.

I just used the program for the first time this past weekend for the WAE
contest myself and found it worked very well. I really appreciated how easy
it was to handle the QTCs.
Here is the way I used it....
When you enter the callsign in the 'entry' window, the 4th box from the left
titled "Tx-QTC" will have a number in it which says how many QTCs you have
to give out at that time. Lets say that this call that you have just entered
is your 8th QSO in the contest. If you have not given out any QTCs up to
that point, the box will say '7'. If he asks if you have QTCs you can say
yes - you can give him 7. At that point you enter "ALT + S" and the QTC
window will appear that gives you the 'series/number of QTC's'at the very
top. In this example '1/7'. All the information that you need to tell him is
listed in this window - ie the time, callsign, and his number for each of
the seven QTCs. When you are finished reading him the information, click on
the 'Xmit QTCs' button and then the 'OK' button. If you now scroll your main
logging screen to the right, you will see the seven QTC's listed on the same
line as the log entry for the station you just gave the QTCs to.
The program then resets itself so the when you enter the next callsign the
'TX-QTCs' box will show '1' meaning that you only have one QTC to give out
at that point. As you work more stations, the 'Tx-QTCs' will build up to a
maximum of 10 until you give out some more, and so on.
With regard to your second question, you would enter that person's callsign
and you will get a message saying that you had worked this station before
which you will ignore. The 'Tx-QTCs' box will tell you how many QTCs you can
give this person and then just proceed as before by entering "ALT + S", etc.
You get credit for giving out these QTCs but not for the second contact with
this station.
Also, the program keeps track of how many QTCs you have given to each
station and won't let you give anyone more than 10.
