I've operated VHF bands since 1957, under the call of WA2FGK "Andy's Call ".
I met Andy in a lunch room at Somerville High School. We've been friends ever
since.Andy was very good friends with Al Katz and Steve at DEM. They spent many
hours together in personallife plus the old college days. Many hams do not know
him, since he preferred building vs operating.I operated using his call sign in
many contests so he at least got some credit.Andy taught at Watchung High
School for 45 years.I can explain accomplishments but it would take all
day.Just going to mention oneHe built the first solid state amplifiers for 1296
and 2304, that produced EME contacts. The 100 watt amps were helped by Al Katz's
big dishReason for this quick letter.Andy is not well - I visited him today and
was saddened to say the leastCOULD YOU PLEASE SEND HIM A QSL CARDJust a good
luck would be appreciated. This is the first thing I have ever asked our
community, other than "How about a Sked".Bridgeway Health395 Amwell
