I have my tower nested in preparation of my trek to Hamvention tomorrow. I
may be on for a short while looking N.E. Trees block me all other directions
. Wen nested I am only at 22 ft height. I can work off the moon although I
believe it is at low declination this week.

Subject: [222Activity] 222 Activity Evening Reminder
Hello VHFers,
I have been contacted by the super secret 222 MHz Activity Committee.
They have questions about the low turnout over the past few Tuesday evenings.
I am getting the feeling that they believe that i am the cause of the drop off
in activity. The last time that happened, I was directed to begin the removal
of Mount Moosilaukee in North central New Hampshire to improve propagation in
the area. It has been tough work and I have no time if any other penalties are
heaped upon me. So I would beseech everyone to dust off your 222 gear and get
on this evening and make a few contacts so that the 222 Activity Committee
calms down and does not hit me with any more penalties. I am busy enough with
Mt Moosilaukee and the K1PXE theme park already. Who knows, if enough folks
get on the air this evening, there might be a prize or free trip offered
instead!
The plan is to get on around 2300 UT this evening and look for contacts.
There are a few strategically locate stations across the SE and many in the
midwest who are all in there looking for contacts. Check the ON4KST
144/432 Region 2 Chat page (ON4KST.com) or HB9Q if you want to try some EME.
EME is quite limited this evening. Moon rise for me is 0145UT or
9:45 EDST and there is significant degradation from apogee as well as a bit of
extra cosmic noise. The highest elevation will be under 20 degrees here, so
many people will not even clear the trees.
Band conditions are looking quite nice for the more southerly stations.
No enhancement predicted for northern New England, but I am up for any meteor
or tropo skeds beyond the normal range. I hope to be on 222.100 at 22:45 UT
or 6:45 EDST. I will be ready. I dd send off for some Antenna Wax. I was
alerted to this product by Fred K1FMS. Fred is quite adept at working on solid
state amplifiers and his shop is quite lathered up with Antenna Wax. If you can
believe the printing on the container it adds up to 4400 dB to your system. I
think the words to pay attention to are "up to", but I would settle for even 15
or 20 dB after rubbing Antenna Wax on my yagi. It is even approved by the FCC.
CU this evening
