Grease up your antenna and feedline for action tonight. It is 222 Night,
so all those with 222 gear should get on. The only excuse for not
appearing will be a note from your doctor or maybe your analyst. While
it has been raining in northern New England for at least a week, I am
sure you could use a break from your typical springtime chores. What
better way to have fun but to push a few electrons through your 222 MHz
gear and make some contacts on the 222 MHz band. You may not have heard,
but 222 MHz has been endorsed by none other than Lady Ga Ga. It turns
out that she likes to do meteor scatter in her off times and the 222
band is a great place to do it. I am also told that she really likes
Icom equipment but swears by Q5 Signal transverters. I gleaned all of
this by reading Hollywood fan magazines, so it must be true. She does
not like FT8 however.
I hope to be on at about 22:30 UT and maybe earlier if PJ4MM shows up
with his new 222 MHz array. There will be EME activity and I hope to
hang on after the 01:00 witching hour and look for EME contacts. If you
are able, a good choice is to monitor the ON4KST Chat page. Use the
144/432 Region 2 Chat. It will enable others to look for you if you are
off the beaten track. The HB9Q 222 MHz Chat is used for EME skeds etc.
Things are pretty waterlogged here in Mumbo Jumbo land (FN43mj) The
antenna still seems to be working. and I hope the activity increases
over the prevuous weeks. With warmer wx, be on the look out for enhanced
conditions. I see color starting to appear in the Great White North. The
Gulf is lit up like a tire fire on most days. CU all there this evening.
