I see this rule for the January, June and September VHF contests. The
222-and-Up contest and the 10 GHz-and-Up contest still maintain a minimum
of 1 km.

I don't think this rule for the VHF contests would affect me, because the
only times I have made QSO's just a little more than 1 km were in the 10
GHz-and-Up Contest, mainly for 47, 76 and 122 GHz QSO's.
