Ham Radio magazine July 1987 has a 20 page article written by K1FO on
modifying this antenna. Good luck. It is available on line.

I hope everyone who wanted to enjoyed the contest this weekend. I had hoped to
add 432 to my band options, but could not attain a reasonable SWR on the 424B I
was hoping to put up.
I had it about 8 feet above ground, horizontally oriented, and could not tune
it below 2 to 1. I did find one of the spade terminals for the coaxial balun
with a cold solder joint, and hoped that would be the fix. I also disassembled
the DE, and cleaned up all of the connection points with some emery cloth.

I understand it's not the best antenna, but for what I have in it, I'd like to
make it work, at least for a starter antenna.
