My good friend, Mike Bass, N7WLC, is quite IT conversant. He has just written
an app for logging when contesting as a mobile or rover. I have just begun
playing with the app and plan to use it during the SPRINTS.
Please read his e-mail below and provide constructive feedback to him.

Subject: [CONTESTING] Mobile contest app (was: First Warning Of Spring VHF/UHF
SPRINTS Events)
If you are thinking about running the Spring VHF/UHF Sprints, I have an app for
you!
I call it mobileLog. This app runs on your phone and helps with your logging
for the contest. It works on either iPhone or Android devices. You reach it
by going to this URL:
https://www.bassfam.org:3443
The app uses the GPS on your phone to determine your current grid square.
(You'll need to grant geolocation permission to the app. When it asks, just
say yes.) You can run it both on your phone and on your home computer when you
want to download the log. It will write your contest log in either Cabrillo or
ADIF formats.
I suggest you play with the app and see how it works before the contest. You
can easily delete your practice log to start fresh for the contest.
mobileLog works for me, but you might have a suggestion for improvement. I
would appreciate the feedback!
Thanks and good luck in the contest!
