Hello everyone....as most of you know by now, Gary-KB8RQ is a silent key.  His wife, Barbara, and son, Kent-N8CUT have sold the property and a new family has moved in.  I met them and they are great people.  However, that meant that the station and all the antennas needed to be removed ASAP.  Kent was in a terrible bind to get that done very quickly.  He was going to just scrap all the antennas and towers, just to get them off the property before the new owners took over.

I just could not stand the idea of all of Gary's antennas and other "stuff" being scrapped to a metals dealer.  SO, I made two trips to OH from TX to rescue as much as I could.  There is a LOT of "stuff".

The main things that might interest our group are:

1)Two M2 6M9KHW antennas(9el on a 49ft boom).
2)About 16 of the cross polarized antennas that Gary had in his world famous EME array.  These are 13el H-pol and 9el V-pol on each boom.  Four of these would make a good EME array and 8 would be a killer array.  Gary had 24 of them up at one time. 3)A Rohn 45 tilt over section with the tilt arm necessary to tilt it over.  You just add some Rohn 45 sections and you would have a really nice tilt over tower.  These need re-galvanizing. 4)Gary's 2 x 8877 EME amp for 2M with power supply.  This is built into a nice aluminum rack panel. 5)There is a big "volume control" for the above.  If you are not aware of this "joke", a volume control is a big variac which can be used to control the HV by varying the 240VAC on the primaries of the transformer. 6)There is a very large and heavy elevation rotor.  It is obviously an M2 design, most probably custom made for Gary by Mike-K6MYC.  It is very similar to an MT3000, just bigger and heavier.  Gary used this to elevate his 4 x 6M9KHW 6M EME array.  There is a "southern engineered" prop pitch motor that was used for Azimuth on the 4 x 9 array.

There are more things that I have not yet catalogued.  If you are interested in any of these, let me know off the reflector and I will visit with you on them.

I would like to see as much of Gary's station go back into service as possible.  Just scrapping it seems to be a poor option to me.
