You are out of normal operating range for me. But, what you are advocating, we
do here in Florida, on a regular basis. We get on 144.174, every Monday night,
at 2030 Eastern Time. Using the "free text" box we move to 432.174 and
1296.174. We have even gone to 902, 2304 and 5760. Works well for us
Floridians.

Subject: [VHFcontesting] Want to run the bands on FT8?
KM4KMU FM16 here.
Does anyone want to join me on FT8 Friday night on 50.313 and the use the free
text line to request QSY's to higher bands? I have the 4 lower, it's a start.
I tried it tonight and had just one taker, out of Cuba of all places!!!
For me and others the inabilty to QSY is one of the biggest gripes. Let's fix
that. Practice makes perfect. Let's set a standard. FT8 is a great grid
getter. Once the bearing is dialed in running the band should be easy.
The free text line let's you send a short 13 character text:
QSY 144174QSL
Reply:QSL
QSY 222065QSL
Reply:QSL
QSY 432065QSL
Reply:QSY
Adding a grid every 3 minutes plus the QSO points going up the bands on FT8
when the bands are dead for PH beats the heck out of calling CQ endlessly after
you worked the regionals.
Let's set the standard and make some lemonade.
I will be there 730 pm Friday eastern Join me. Let's make the best of this!!!
