I have an FT 290R which is surplus to my needs.
It is not perfect....the 25-watt amp does not work
but the 2.5 watt output seems fine. Thus, the unit
would make a great IF for a microwave transverter
system.
The set is not really suited for general 2-meter CB
use as it does not have the tone encoder, but as a
general source of 2-meter RF for Sat or upconverting
use it should be fine.
If anybody has need of it, contact me off list and we
will try to cook up a deal.
