Yes, K3YTL is missed.  Even meager like mine worked him during the contests.
Also K8GP kept the bands warm during the cooler weather.
They gave us a reason to get on the air!

 Let me give some infoBack in the late 1990's, K3YTL,  our local club would go 
to Red Rock Mtn, near Williamsport Pa FN11Bob N3FA (RIP) ran the 2 meter 
station. A stack of 12 element yagi's and about 700 wattsOn FM he ran several 
hundred watts to a verticalHe would total  600 stations on 2 meters. If not 
600, high 500'sThe numbers for multi op stations today are in the 300 range. 
And that is with rovers all over the placeWhen Bob was working from Red Rock,
