Hello everyone interested in our (so far non-) DXpedition to DL79 and
DL89. We loaded up this morning and took off for west Texas and the Big
Bend country. However, about 100 miles from home, (like the Titanic)
Bill's truck struck an iceberg. We did not sink, but we had to limp
back to the repair shop and try to effect repairs. The shop owner was
very helpful and he is going to try to get us on the road
again...hopefully by noon tomorrow. We are going to lose at least 1.5
days here, BUT, we originally were planning to leave on the 5th anyway.
SO, we may be able to make up a lot of the time and get back on track.
What this will probably mean is that we will not be able to spend as
much time as we would have liked in each grid. We are trying hard not
to have to cancel. However, we cannot stretch this out for days and
days. The CQ WW VHF contest begins on the 20th of July and we have to
be back for that.
We will let everyone know our progress as it occurs.
Sorry, but we are doing what we can.....
73 Marshall K5QE and Bill N5YA
