Hi Folks,

Been a while since I posted anything, so I am announcing the addition of a
new band... 222MHz!

About half way done building a 16ele K1FO yagi from scratch. Yesterday I
Finished drilling the 17.5 ft boom using a very old device that adapts a
hand held drill into a drill press. Not the best but just right for the
task at hand. It has to be at least 50 yrs old but worked perfectly. I love
using old school equipment to create High Performance antennas using a
proven modern Design.

It will be mounted atop the tower trailer mast at about 28', Using brand
new CQ-106 low loss coax, and driven with 150W from a Mil Surplus Amplifier
Module that's fed 10W from a brand new Ukrainian 222MHz Transverter working
on 28 MHz into a very old IC-706mkIIg.

Once this is complete I have a Harris 6M amplifier Module to integrate into
a working 400W Solid State Amplifier. The HP Blade 51V server from Ebay
needs to be converted into a reliable 50V DC supply. Then mounting the
module into a chassis, building the Control board, and mounting the TR
relays.

Once that is done I can then concentrate on building a 4 bay array on 432
MHz of either 22 or 33 element K1KO yagis. Haven't decided yet on the exact
configuration. Maybe a pair of 33 ele on 432 and a pair of loopers on 1296?
The whole thing will be build from scratch over the coming Summer with
hopes of being QRV on at least 432 by the Fall. I plan to mount it no more
than 10ft off the ground so it will be easier to maintain. Open to
suggestions on this. Does anyone have plans for 1296 antennas that are
simple to reproduce, or something laying around they no longer need? Any
one know of available economical 1296 amplifiers?

That's Alot to do for a retired/disabled fat old man with limited energy
reserves & walks with a cane. One step at a time, I am in no hurry.

Looking forward to working you all in the coming June VHF Contest.
